Role Overview

  • Coordination with security companies, local authorities, and city management.

  • Developing a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (EMP/EAP).

  • Putting out RFPs for security teams in the area and managing hiring.

  • Acting on-site safety resource for all festival staff and crew.

  • Working with signage and art team to develop necessary safety signage.

  • Working with 40+ venues across the city to coordinate safety and security efforts.

  • Working with on-site security to make on-the-fly decisions regarding the safety and security of the festival.

  • Hiring and working with on-site medical.

  • Coordinating with production and artist management to meet touring teams safety needs.

Personal Takeaways

Treefort is in a period of massive growth and with that comes pains, especially in the way of safety. In helping festival leadership to understand the additional safety measures that come with bigger acts and larger crowds, I've been able to grow my own skill set in quick maneuvering of both procedure and staff members to meet a changing need.
