Role Overview

  • Management of timeline and planning meetings, maintenance of internal directories and documents.

  • Coordination with site vendors such as tents, tables, power, restrooms, and fencing.

  • Working with city officials to ensure proper street closures around both festival footprint and a parade.

  • Working to contain and manage site operations for over 130,000 guests over 3 days at a free and open event.

  • Leading vendor load-in for 200+ street vendors

  • Coordinating staff schedules for site ops and hospitality staff.

  • Working with city and government stakeholders to coordinate layouts and develop a comprehensive EAP/EMP.

Personal Takeaways

When working with nonprofits and events benefiting targeted groups, the stakes are higher and the tension is palpable. Keeping the safety of our attendees in mind while also putting on a joyful event in the middle of a bustling downtown area with a city that works against you at every turn is an experience I will never be able to fully articulate. Pride Fest is a labor of love.
