Role Overview

  • Coordinating with sponsors and vendors.

  • Working with festival management on layout and set-up.

  • Coordinating with the venue management.

  • Accept and manage orders, deliveries, and payment.

  • Training volunteers and overseeing all transactions.

  • Management of all perishable stock.

  • Tracking year-to-year inventory of non-perishables.

  • Generating a standard process doc and training new staff as I transitioned out of the role.

Personal Takeaways

As someone with both festival and food service experience, I was able to combine these skillsets to create a more efficient system. In this process, we were able to eliminate complex items from service, bring in new partners, and generate additional income for the foundation. While I never shy from a down and dirty gig like food-service, I now know that a children's festival is maybe not my ideal role.
